Lofty has had a few sessions of learning to chin target. This is his fourth. In the first few sessions, he was lured with the food until his chin touched my hand. Now he can do the behaviour without luring. This will be developed until he can sustain the behaviour for longer. It is a great exercise for husbandry.
“I am delighted to have achieved Pre-Certification and starting my journey to ASAB Accreditation. I have worked with pet owners since 2002 and set up my own pet behaviour business in the North East in 2008. I have continued to further my career, completing my BSc (Hons) in Canine Behaviour and Training at Bishop Burton College in 2010 and MSc In Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare at Newcastle University in 2014. I am registered with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist via the APBC and as an animal training instructor via the APDT. Working towards ASAB Accreditation through the robust assessment process will develop my professional skills to benefit clients and their pets. I am also thrilled to be sharing the journey with other qualified and highly regarded industry peers. When I am not helping clients and their pets, I am spending time with my rescue Lurchers!”
